Something To Return To

It's the small progressions in ourselves that often go unseen.

By not recognizing our own progress, it's easy to become frustrated.

The positive changes in our posture, in our energy, in our outlook over time are impossible to measure.

Because we can't measure the transformations that occur in us from our yoga practice, they go under valued.

I can't believe that this Saturday, December 14th, Guruji Iyengar's birthday, we'll have our last Sadhana Circle meeting for 2024. Before I start to get sentimental (I will save that for later!), I hope that I get to see as many of you as possible live on the weekend. If you're not in Sadhana Circle, you can join anytime. Otherwise, I'll see some of you in my weekly classes online or at Iyengar Yoga Zentrum Berlin. In January, I'll be in India for the month, so it would be wonderful to practice together before the end of the year.

If you can't make it to class, don't stress. Some people have written me recently that they just can't make it as often as they'd like to class, either online or in-person. When I conceived Sadhana Circle, I knew that would be the case. That's part of why every session in the membership is recorded. It's certainly not the same as being there live, but it gives you the feeling of the live experience. Also, you can go back any time (again and again if you'd like) to the practices without the pressure of them being deleted. Like favorite books on the shelf, the recordings library and other resources in the membership portal are there for you when you need and want them.

Also, to me, yoga is far more than the time we spend on our mat. It's about the thoughts and discussions that we have off the mat and the workings of the teachings in our lives. Many people come to yoga for physical fitness or stress reduction but find over time that it offers much more. Inquisitiveness, the asking of questions, is then sparked, and we want to know more. It can be hard to be in the space of not knowing on our own. In Sadhana Circle, we're met with compassion, friendliness, and openness to questions about the challenges and obstacles that come up when we practice yoga.

However you are a part of our yoga community, it's what's right for you. I'm grateful to be on this journey with you and look forward to more practices and learning together in the new year.

If you have questions about your yoga practice for our last 2024 Q&A and can't attend live, you can email me your questions or post them in the Facebook group.
